Johnny Rebel was the pseudonym of cajun country musician Clifford Joseph Trahan (September 25, 1938 – September 3, 2016), also known as Pee Wee Trahan. His songs frequently used the term 'nigger' and voiced sympathy for the KKK. Nearly all his songs were anti-black and anti racial-integration. .

On Jan 10th, 2012 the Santa Barbara, CA based band Rebelution released "Peace of Mind" through their own label 87 Music in partnership with Controlled Substance Sound Labs. Although The Rebels weren't around long, they were not short on talent. The group consisted of John Mathews (bariton), "Big" Jim Hamill (later went on to fame with the Kingsmen), Horace Parrish (tenor), and London Parris (bass). Other members included Jay Berry and Jimmy Taylor. .
