Jean-Yves Prieur si serve dello pseudonimo Kid Loco per diffondere la sua orecchiabile musica dance. Prima di decidersi per la musica dance ha suonato in gruppi punk. Prieur ha fondato il proprio studio e ha registrato il disco "Blues Project" nel 1996. Il suo album di debutto "A Grand Love Story" esce nel 1997 rendendolo una delle nuove pop star in Francia a fianco di Air, Daft Punk e Dimitri From Paris. Loco ha realizzato dei remix per Mogwai, Pulp e Stereolab prima di partecipare alla serie di musica dance "DJ Kicks" nel 1999. Ha lavorato con la cantante dei Saint Etienne, Sarah Cracknell. Jean Yves Prieur, alias Kid Loco, (born June 16, 1964 in Antony, Hauts-de-Seine) is a French musician, DJ, remixer and producer. Some consider his style to be similar to Air, Saint Etienne, and Stereolab. His best-known album is A Grand Love Story, released in September 1997 and he has also compiled and mixed a DJ mix album for the Another Late Night series on Azuli Records.

He has worked with Jarvis Cocker (of Pulp) and Glasgow bands Quinn and Mogwai, and produced the album Too Late To Die Young by the British group Departure Lounge.
