CousCous is an acoustic pop duo from Dresden, Germany. CousCous were founded in 2011 by Tine Schulz (vocals) and Till Moritz Eßinger (piano/guitar). Their music is heavily influenced by artists such as Tori Amos and Kate Bush, but also by more recent piano pop such as Regina Spektor and A Fine Frenzy.

In 2012, CousCous successfully crowdfunded their debut album Paper Tiger, which was released on purecords on January 18th, 2013. Since then, CousCous have played more than 100 shows throughout Germany, including a joint tour with UK singer/songwriter Sophie Janes.

The songs Snow White and Come, Come were nominated for the Most Emotional Song Award by Newcomerradio Deutschland in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Between 2012 and 2015, CousCous repeatedly appeared on regional TV and radio stations, and received reviews from both local and national newspapers, most notably the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), who called their song Snow White "a microcosm of resounding snowflakes".

In 2015, another crowdfunding campaign brought in more than €16000 for the production of their second album Tales, a concept album that comes with an original novel in a 160-page hardcover book. It tells “The story of the boy who had butterflies in his stomach”, a modern fairy tale set in a dystopic world devoid of emotions. The CD contains 14 tracks, arranged for a full band setup and extras such as strings and brass. The music was recorded largely in a medieval castle near Dresden, Germany, with additional recording done in London, hometown of coproducer and sound engineer Peter Junge. Tales was released on purecords on May 6th, 2016. .
