Latin Grammy Nominee tag is connected to those artists that have been nominated for one of more awards at the Latin Grammy ceremonies which are held yearly ever since 2000. There are 234 winners but more than 1000 nominees in various categories, many are Mexican and Brazilian artists but also Spain, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Cuba are very well represented.
A Latin Grammy Award is an accolade by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. Unlike the regular Grammy Award which primarily honours music produced in the United States or at least that is in the English language, the Latin Grammy honours works produced anywhere around the world that were recorded in either Spanish or Portuguese with a focus on Latin-America. However, both awards have similar nominating and voting processes, in which the selections are decided by peers within the music industry.
