Formed in late 1992, FANATIC◇CRISIS was a 5 man visual kei/ japanese rock band that hailed from the city of Nagoya. In November of 1992, vocalist 石月努 (Ishizuki Tsutomu), guitarist 和也 (Kazuya) and bassist Ryuji came together to form the core of the band. A year later rhythm/synth guitarist Shun joined the band, while being rounded out by support drummer タツヤ (Tatsuya). It was this incarnation of the band that released the demo tape カルマ, and the 1st and 2nd versions of the mini-album 太陽の虜 (taiyou no toriko). At this point in time, the band presented itself in a very...
Machinae Supremacy is a metal band from Luleå, Sweden. Their musical style is based on the use of the Sidstation synthesizer, which incorporates the SID (Sound Interface Device) of the Commodore 64 home computer. The retro-electronic sound is blended with a metal sound to produce a special kind of "SID-metal" . Their album Redeemer (released March 18th, 2006 as an 'Underground Edition'), was described by the band in an interview as everything DXM (Deus Ex Machinae, the debut album) wasn't. It was re-released on November 8th, 2006 as a remixed version under Spinefarm Records. On february 13th, 2008, the CD...
China Rats are inspired by a love of punk rock and the classic British guitar bands. That is, the very best bands - the ones with the greatest knack at conveying the frustrations and absurdities of their young lives. In these times where - let’s face it - prospects can generally be pretty crappy for men in their early 20s, China Rats have an irresistible energy and a turn of self-deprecating, tongue in cheek phrase, lyrics that could only have bubbled up from this part of the world. It’s not hard to see why their last hometown show sold out...
Imperial China is an experimental punk rock trio from Washington, DC, featuring Matt Johnson, Brian Porter, and Patrick Gough. Gough was in the 1990s band Pitchblende, which recorded for Cargo, Matador, Jade Tree, and Simple Machines. Imperial China began in January 2007 and self-released their debut four-song EP, "Methods:" in April 2008. The band followed up with a nine-song album in February 2010 called "Phosphenes," a split release on DC labels Sockets and Ruffian. The group is playing out and about as much as possible and writing new songs in 2010, and hopes to go back into the studio to...
There have been at least three bands called Personality Crisis: A 1980s Canadian punk band, a 1990s British darkwave band, and a Greek punk band. 1) Personality Crisis was a punk rock band formed in 1979 in Winnipeg, Canada. They are widely regarded as having a more complex sound than most other punk rock bands of the early 1980s while retaining the power of the early 1980s punk sound. Personality Crisis released one LP, Creatures for Awhile, in 1983, as well as several demo tapes. After the breakup of the band in 1984, band member Jon Card went on to...
