Yuhko (Yuko) Narisoko, born in January 11, 1975, is known as a wonderful and talented singer/songwriter. Yuhko was born in the Ishigaki island, Okinawa and graduated a music college in Tokyo. Some ten years ago she started her professional singing career and had several album releases on minor labels. People began to take notice of her music through broadcasts and downloads, and finally she debuted on one of Japan's leading record companies, King Records with the tear-jerking ballad "Furusato Karano Koe(ふるさとからの声)" on November 10th, 2010.

Her brand new album "Takara(宝=Treasures)" was just released on July 6th. The impressive ballad "Makka Na Deigo No Saku Komichi(真っ赤なデイゴの咲く小径)"　is a Yuhko's own composition while the lively Okinawa-flavoured "Dynamic Ryukyu(ダイナミック琉球)"　is composed and originally sung by Akira Ikuma in 2009.

Yuhko's distinctive music is based on classical and Okinawan traditional music. Once she decided to be an opera singer and went to Italy to join the opera company, but sadly it went wrong. She lost her voice but the reason why she recovered herself and decided to be a pop singer-songwriter is kind supports from her mother and father from the Ishigaki island. The lyrics to the masterpiece "Furusato Karano Koe" were based on these episodes.

In 2006 Yuhko had an opportunity to compose and sing "Sato-Geshiki(里景色)" for Hisaya Morishige's talking DVD which became his final work. Morishige was THE legendary Japanese actor and best known as The Japanese Tevye from the musical stage "Fiddler On The Roof" which was played an amazing 900 times through 1967-1986. Sadly he passed away on November 10th, 2009 at the age of 96 but just one year later Yuhko debuted on the major label.

The most moving, heartwarming and tear-jerking song from Yuhko is "Kono Hoshi Ni Umarete(この地球に生まれて)". In fact in Japan over 30,000 people killed themselves every year. There are so many people committing suicides because of being cruelly bullied, fruitless hard-work, and many other reasons.Yuhko was so heartbroken and wrote this song which teaches us the importance of living gently.

The tune "Chura Shima(美ら島)" was dedicated to her homeland, Ishigaki. Chura Shima means A Beautiful Island in Okinawan dialect.

Her songs are so warm-hearted. She sings about her native land, about its beauty. Yuhko-san, we wish you all the best.
