Onuki Ami, originaire de Tokyo, et Yoshimura Yumi, d’Osaka, forme le duo Puffy. Elles se sont rencontrées en 1995, après que Yumi soit venue sur Tokyo pour passer une audition suite à une recherche de jeunes talents chez Sony.
