Natacha Atlas née à Schaerbeek (Bruxelles) le 20 mars 1964, est une chanteuse belge d'origine anglo-egyptienne. Natacha Atlas s'est fixé pour mission de rapprocher l'Orient et l'Occident sur le plan musical, en mêlant les musiques et les chants orientaux, classiques ou de variété, la chanson française, la pop et le rap. Toujours hébergé chez Kranky, Bradford Cox, leader de Deerhunter, nous offre une escapade auditive de haute volée avec la première sortie discographique de son projet solo Atlas Sound (après un remix pour Grizzly Bear, sur leur Friend EP). Là où la musique de Deerhunter est riche d’ atmosphères fortes, celle d’Atlas Sound a plus à voir avec les musiques pop/laptop de chambre, ces pièces personnelles et rêveuses qui hantent nos discothèques.
