Boston Spaceships est un groupe d'indie rock originaire de Dayton, Ohio, mené par Robert Pollard, le leader de Guided by Voices. Le groupe compte aussi John Moen (du groupe The Decemberists) et Chris Slusarenko (également de Guided by Voices). En 2008, ils sortent leur premier album, Brown Submarine. Le groupe se sépare en 2011, après avoir sorti cinq albums (dont un ultime double-album, Let It Beard). Boston Spaceships était pendant un certain moment le projet principal de Robert Pollard (qui continue toujours de sortir des albums en solo ou avec ses groupes Circus Devils et The Takeovers. .

Spaceships Are Cool were formed by Rob Maddison in the summer of 2005 and are based in the city of Nottingham, UK. Spaceships are cool use toy phones, melodicas, cheesey synths, glockenspiels and miniature drumkits to make their music. Rob spent many days recording & performing as a drummer & programmer in bands in Nottingham & Newcastle upon tyne.
