Lynyrd Skynyrd est un des fondateurs de ce qu'on appelle le rock sudiste, un style de rock bien particulier provenant du sud des États-Unis. Il fut fondé en 1964 par Robert Burns, Allen Collins, Gary Rossington et Ronnie Van Zant, quoique le nom actuel du groupe ne fut adopté qu'en 1970, à partir du nom de leur professeur de gymnastique au lycée Robert E. Lee High School de Jacksonville : Leonard Skinner.

3. How did you first become interested in music?
There was always music on in my house when I was growing up. My mother loved ALL music, but I really have to thank my older brother Chuck for turning me on to such a variety of musicians. Count Basie to The Cream, Spike Jones to Tony Bennett, Muddy Waters to Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin to Mountain. My sister Jill did as well in the early 70’s with James Taylor, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young and Jethro Tull....

Laura Nyro (née Laura Nigro le 18 octobre 1947 à New York – décédée le 8 avril 1997 à Danbury, dans le Connecticut) est une auteur-compositeur-interprète et pianiste américaine. Sa musique mêle rock, jazz, rhythm and blues, gospel et Pop.
Elle est surtout connue pour les titres qu'elle a écrits pour d'autres, notamment The 5th Dimension (Wedding Bell Blues, Stoned Soul Picnic, Sweet Blindness), Blood, Sweat and Tears (And When I Die), Three Dog Night (Eli's Coming) ou Barbra Streisand (Stoney End).
