Immedia are Vicky Paniale and Darren Reynolds, a duo from London, UK. Paniale studied fine art at Central Saint Martins College of Art, creating immersive light and sound environments. Reynolds studied graphic design, creating a number of art books and magazines, and now works primarily as a sound artist. As Immedia they have participated in a number of group events and independent shows, exploring the subtle and fragile nature of sound. .

Since its inception, The Immediate has developed from a scratchy, muffled, ill-conceived piece of work into something articulate and special. Maintaining a disregard of traditional group roles and an affection for instrument-swapping stage theatrics (each symptomatic of the other), the group has come to act as an emotionally instinctive counterbalance to its individual members restrictively modern self-consciousness and reflexivity. The band formed in 1995 out of the gathering of musicians coming from various garage bands (among which Stinky Spider). The Immediates have reached their present state after having settled down in Nantes in 1998 and seen the conspicuous arrival of two new recruits, François and Xavier (ex-Looneys), a buoyant organist and jumpy performer on stage. The sound of the band was then deeply modified with the organ flying high over the beats.
