The Gaye Blades began as a side project of The Black Lips' bassist Jared Swilley and The Lids' singer/guitarist Bobby Ubangi. Their first few years of existence saw multiple line-up changes and very few shows. Upon the release of their first 7", 'I'd Brave Anything for You' (Rob's House / Die Slaughterhaus), the band settled on a final lineup and began playing shows more frequently. The current lineup includes Mike the Bison Beavers of Beat Beat Beat and Trey Lindsay of Rob's House Records. .
