The Blades were a power pop group which formed in 1977 in Dublin, Ireland. The band's best known lineup was Paul Cleary (vocals, bass), Lar Cleary (guitar) and Pat Larkin (drums). This lineup split in 1981, but Paul Cleary reformed the band in 1982. This lineup featured Paul Cleary (vocals, guitar), Brian Foley (bass), Jake Reilly (drums) and a brass section. This lineup lasted until 1986. .

There are two bands with this name: • The Razorblades are a neo-surf rock band from Wiesbaden, Germany. Founded in 2002 by guitarist Rob Razorblade, the band created a style they call "21st Century Surf," a mixture of twang guitars, punk power and melodies as big as the ocean. The Gaye Blades began as a side project of The Black Lips' bassist Jared Swilley and The Lids' singer/guitarist Bobby Ubangi. Their first few years of existence saw multiple line-up changes and very few shows. Upon the release of their first 7", 'I'd Brave Anything for You' (Rob's House / Die Slaughterhaus), the band settled on a final lineup and began playing shows more frequently.
