Donkelheet is a depressive Black metal band from Luxembourg. Members: Doudesgaard - guitars, bass, vocals Caacrinolaas - drums Azrael Azrake Mistrahas Morbida 18 demo-tapes have been recorded since 1994, only 11 have been published. Most of them are limited to a very small quantity and were given to friends only. The former-name of Donkelheet was Frost. First, the band-name has changed into : Kingdom of Darkness (track from the first Frost-demotape), later only Darkness. Arriving at the end of the Krautrock explosion of the 1970s, Dunkelziffer was formed out of the original sessions that created the classic Phantom Band, and was centered around Dominik von Senger (Golf Channel), Reiner Linke and Helmut Zerlett, and with a cast of floating members that included Jaki Liebezeit, Damo Suzuki, Olek Gelba, Wolfgang Schubert, Stefan Krachten and Matthias Keul. Manuel Dunkel (b. 2.11.1971) comes from the city of Vantaa, Finland. Recognized as one of the strongest voices in Finnish jazz scene today, his international class musicianship and passionate playing has been praised in Finland since early -90`s. Dunkel´s playing is charcterized by rich and strong saxophone sound, well-developed melodic lines and intense swing. Dunkel got heavily into jazz in his teens, absorbing and practising jazz language from the records. He was fascinated especially by saxophonist John Coltrane, who became one of Dunkel´s main influence. Dunkelgrafen is a German Melodic Black Metal band founded in 1995 by Dunkelgraf and Lord Asgaqlun. After finding a drummer (Gabriel) they started recording. In 1996 they were joined by Iskariot (vocals/keyboards) and Shaitan (bass). With this line-up they recorder their first demo- in march 1996 at the Digan-Studio which was called, like the band, "Dunkelgrafen". In May 1996 they had their first concert with Eminenz, Impending Doom and Desaster in Koblenz. Later this year they played at the "Morbiden Festspielen" with Grogoroth, Behemoth and others.
