Jiří Antonín Benda (1722-1795) was Czech composer of early classicism. Younger brother of František Benda. His works of that period are of great compositional importance, due in part to the liberal environment of the court, where the thoughts of French encyclopedists found strong acceptance and greatly influenced Benda. Rousseau's idea of a scenic melodrama stimulated Benda to create this new genre. In his dramatic and instrumental works, he preceded Beethoven in many things and, in the atmosphere of his work, even Romanticism. Václav Neckář (23. října 1943 Praha) je oblíbený český popový zpěvák a herec. V letech 1968 až 1970 byl společně s Martou Kubišovou a Helenou Vondráčkovou členem pěvecké skupiny Golden Kids. Václav Nelhýbel (September 24, 1919 – March 22, 1996) was a Czech-American composer, mainly of works for student performers. He is considered one of the most prolific composers of the 20th century. He was born the youngest of five children in Polanka, Czechoslovakia. He received his early musical training in Prague, going to both Charles University in Prague and Prague Conservatory. Jiří Stivín (born 23 November 1942 in Prague, Czech Republic) is a Czech flute player and composer. Jiří Stivín has been interpreting pre-classical music on the recorder since 1975. After graduating from the cinematography department of the Prague Film Academy (FAMU), he devoted himself exclusively to music. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music as well as at the Prague Academy of Music, where he studied composition.
