Betty Everett est une chanteuse américaine de rhythm and blues, née le 23 novembre 1939 à Greenwood dans le Mississippi. Elle débuta à l'église à l'âge de 14 ans où elle chantait et jouait du piano. Au début de l'année 1957, elle déménagea à Chicago, elle fut découverte peu après par le bluesman Magic Sam. Elle est décédée le 19 août 2001 d'un arrêt cardiaque. Everett a commencé à jouer du piano, le chant et la musique gospel dans l'église à l'âge de neuf ans. Elle a déménagé à Chicago en 1957 pour poursuivre une carrière dans la musique profane....
