Agnès est issue d'une famille d'intellectuels, son père Luc Bihl (1938-1997) est avocat spécialiste du droit de consommation (et notamment du droit des débits de boissons) et également écrivain sous le nom de Luc Willette. Avec un arrière grand-père cofondateur avec Salis du cabaret Le Chat Noir et une grand-mère peintre, elle s'intéresse naturellement dès le plus jeune âge à toutes les formes artistiques, notamment à l'écriture et au théâtre. Étudiante, elle enchaine les petits boulots dans les bars jusqu'à ce qu'un de ses amis accordéoniste ne déclenche sa vocation en l'emmenant voir Allain Leprest, à la Folie en tête...
