Grim Reaper vont et viennent après trois albums. Tous ont été remplis avec les images des démons qui ont marqué des bandes lourds du milieu des années 80. Mais, contrairement à certains de leurs efforts de ce quatuor a réussi à percer aux Etats-Unis avec l'ensemble de leurs rejets. Le groupe a été formé en 1979 dans leur Droitwich, en Angleterre, par le guitariste Nick Bowcott, qui serait également crédité de chants sur leurs albums. Soulreaper was a blackened Death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. After Tobias and Johan left Dissection, they formed this band as a death/black metal outfit. They took their name from a Dissection song from the "Storm Of The Light's Bane" album. Before releasing their first full-length, the band, which originally was named 'Reaper' had to change their name because of copyright problems with a band under the same name. Consequently, they added 'Soul' to once 'Reaper' in order to create less confusion. .
