Perfume (パフューム, Pafyūmu) est un groupe de j-pop et electropop constitué de trois membres: Kashiyuka, Nocchi, et A~chan qui ont débuté localement en 2001 et nationalement en 2005. Depuis 2003 Perfume est produit par Yasutaka Nakata.
En 2001, Nocchi (Ayano Ōmoto), Kashiyuka (Yuka Kashino), et A~chan (Ayaka Nishiwaki), amies habitants à Hiroshima, agées de 11 à 12 ans, s'associent ensemble pour former Perfume.
En 2002, elle réalisèrent deux singles en édition limité appelés Omajinai Perori et Kareshi Boshūchū, vendus uniquement à Hiroshima.

Perfume Tree were originally a group of disc jockeys from Vancouver (Canada) who used to perform live shows at the border between Throbbing Gristle's industrial music, dub and hip hop. The core of Pete Lutwyche (samples, guitar, beats), Jane Tilley (vocals, guitar) and Bruce Turpin (mix, samples) got together in 1991 and coined the moniker Perfume Tree.
