Renée de Haan (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 9 July 1954 - 2 July 2016) was a Dutch singer. In the 1980's she was a quite famous, Dutch language, torch song (Dutch: "levenslied") interpreter.
De Haan grew up in the Amsterdam Jordaan district. As a young girl she was singing on the pool tables in the local pubs. She had a contract with the record company EMI in 1985. In 1986 she released, in the typical Amsterdam repertoire, two singles, "In Een Wereld Zonder Jou" (In A World Without You) and "Weet Jij Dan Niet Wat Liefde Is" (Don't You Even Know What Love Is)
In 1988 de Haan, had a hit with "Vuile Huichelaar" (Dirty Hypocrite), written by Aad Klaris, in the "National Hit Parade" and the "Dutch Top 40". With "Mannen (Steeds Weer De Verkeerde") Men (Always the wrong one) she repeated that in the same year. After that she had no new hits. But she has always ha been a sought after artist since, in her genre.
She died 2 July 2016. .
