Afro is a shorthand term for Afrodelic or Afrofuturism. It's the meeting of African culture & Futurism also Sci-fi. the idea was first propounded by the late Jazz musician and composer Sun Ra. Various genres are part of this musical continuum such as Detroit Techno, Jazz and Dub Reggae and artists like Miles Davis, Alice Coltrane, Lee Perry, King Sunny Ade, Derrick May, A Guy Called Gerald amongst others. Afro is also used to tag African music. .
