Desde inicios de la banda en la ciudad de Baltimore en el otoño de 1998, Swarm of the Lotus ha recorrido un largo camino y todavía está sólo en el comienzo de su incipiente carrera. .

Swarms es un trío que surge en Malvern, Reino Unido. Nace como resultado de la fórmula compuesta por Peter Cooper(también en Stumbleine ) y Sam Westley, quienes estaban familiarizados con el post-rock, la electrónica, el shoegaze y el ambient, sumado a Tom Barton-Humphreys, quien se adentra más en los géneros del Drum and Bass y el Dubstep. Swarm is a name of, at least, five bands.
1) a short-lived project by current/former Death Angel members, Mark Osegueda (vocals), Rob Cavestany (guitar) and Andy Galeon (drums)
2) A Warner Beach rock band (formed 1996), first signed to gallo records (1997) & released on the C-weed compilation album. The band is now Hampshire, UK based. Last known line-up: Jason Grimaldi (vocals), Jason Horseler (drums) & Steve Venois (bass).
