Si escuchar a Kyuss era toser tierra entre riffs polvorientos y fraseos propios de una cobra, estos músicos de Austin, Texas, formados en 2003 consiguen con su música que empieces un viaje sin retorno al desierto con tus colegas, unas cervezas y quién sabe si algo más, un viaje que no vas a querer terminar nunca. Las similitudes con Kyuss son evidentes pero no esperes una copia de éstos, The Sword tienen un estilo propio que delimitan perfectamente en cada riff y cada golpe de bajo, pero con unas influencias bastante definidas que no se acaban aquí, probad a esuchar...

I. The Word is an instrumental/Sacred steel/gospel blues jam band. The supergroup included well-known musicians: Robert Randolph (pedal steel guitar), John Medeski (keyboards), and all three members of North Mississippi Allstars - Luther Dickinson (electric guitar), Cody Dickinson (drums, washboard), and Chris Chew (bass guitar).
