Firestations is a London five-piece that includes members of Astronauts, Dark Captain, Quickspace and Left With Pictures. At times they bring to mind the scuzzy indiepop hooks of Veronica Falls or the Wave Pictures meshed with the spacey folk of Pentangle or Tunng, and the streamlined precision of Stereolab. Their songs can be lighthearted, but they conceal a dark underbelly of suburban angst and modern mistrust beneath the surface.
