Violetta Villas ( /ˈvɪllæs/; born Czesława Maria Cieślak, June 10, 1938 – December 5, 2011) was a Belgian-born Polish and international cabaret star, singer, actress, composer and songwriter. Her voice was characterized as coloratura soprano. She could play the piano, violin and trombone and had absolute pitch. At least two bands are known to carry the name Violetta: (1) The first, a hardcore/metalcore group from Tampa, FL, was composed of William Force (Vocals), Hank Watts (Bass), Brett Johnston (Guitar), and Adam (Drums). In the beginning she created electronic and analogous music, later, during her studies of philosophy, experimental-electronic with a trace of pop and groove.
