Kansas es una banda norteamericana fundada en 1970, su estilo destacó en el Rock Progresivo. Sus integrantes originales son: Dave Hope (bajo), Phil Ehart (batería), Robby Steinhardt (violín), Steve Walsh (teclado y voz), Rich Williams (guitarra). Anteriormente formaron la banda White Clover, en su ciudad natal de Topeka, Kansas. Después de la llegada de Kerry Livgren (guitarra y teclado) el nombre fue cambiado por Kansas. The Wizards From Kansas were an obscure country-psych rock group, formed 1968 in Kansas. In July and August of 1970 , the Wizards From Kansas recorded their eponymous debut album in San Francisco. During the recording of the album, several band members decided they would rather play jazz, and duly departed to pursue their interests. Shortly thereafter, The Wizards From Kansas disbanded. Formely "We Are Trapped in Kansas" now "Trapped in Kansas" started June 2008, it includes 4 studenty type chaps that all live either together or a few minutes away from each other in the fine coastal town of ayr. Despite its wide usage, the Jew's harp is an instrument that is treated with little respect, and is rarely considered a solo instrument. Tapani Varis is someone who has completely mastered the instrument. With his first album "Munniharppuuna", he resurrects Finland's 500-year old Jew's harp tradition which was thought to have been lost forever. Varis has added a wide geographical array of stylistic influences into his mix, including elements from the Jew's harp traditions of Hungary, Siberia and even Indonesia.
