Fundado en sus inicios para ser el vehículo de Alan Sparhawk (Low) y Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters/ Sun Kil Moon) a través del cual dar rienda suelta a su lado más rock y guitarrero, Retribution Gospel Choir (ya sin Kozelek) se han convertido con los años en una realidad robusta y dinámica. Sparhawk, acompañado de Matt Livingston de Low y Eric Pollard, libera su querencia por los riffs rotundos y el rock en sus arrolladores directos.
