José "Cheo" Feliciano nació el 3 de Julio de 1935 y dió sus primeros pasos en firme en el campo de la música como estudiante de la Escuela de Música Libre en su nativa Ponce, Puerto Rico. A la edad de 17, se trasladó con su familia a Nueva York donde empezó su carrera profesional como percusionista con un grupo llamado "Ciro Rimac's Review".

La historia de Archeon comienza en el año 2001. En aquel momento estaba formada por Michal Kostrzynski (compositor y mente maestra de la banda) y Michal Tomaszewski. Buscando miembros para formar un grupo que reflejara sus gustos por la música clásica y el heavy metal, encontraron en su camino al tecladista Janek Lesniak. Escutcheon is a melodic death metal from the eastern part of the Netherlands, and was founded in 1996. Since their sound resembles acts like (old) In Flames, Dismember and Dissection, their style is also described as "Twenteborg metal", referring to the Dutch region they originate from. Putting up an excellent live performance, their repetoire features killer songs like The Tyrant Captain and Night's Blood (Dissection cover).
