Natacha Atlas es la gran diva del asian underground y estrella de la música árabe. Reside en El Cairo, pero es medio inglesa y con pasaporte belga. Sus canciones en árabe, francés, ingles son una mezcla exótica de chanson y tecno con bases árabes. En 2001 fue nombrada Embajadora Honorífica de la ONU. Natacha Atlas nació en 1963 en Bélgica. Es de madre inglesa de origen musulmán y padre egipcio de origen judío sefardí. Hasta el divorcio de sus padres sucedido cuando tenía ocho años de edad, vivió en el barrio marroquí de Bruselas. Atlas Sound es la excusa que se ha buscado Bradford James Cox para ocupar los tiempos muertos que le deja Deerhunter, banda que viene liderando desde los últimos cuatro años, y dar rienda suelta a su pasión por la psicodelia y todos aquellos sonidos de corte más lisérgico que, por cualquier motivo, no acaban de encajar en la banda madre. Su debut discográfico fue en 2008 con “Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel”, al que le siguió "Logos" en 2009. .
