The Crimea are an English indie band via Ireland, Wales and Zimbabwe, based in Camden and formed in 2002 One of the band's earliest breaks came when Davey spotted Fran Healy of Travis and took his chance to pass him a demo. A week later The Crimea opened for Travis at Brixton Academy. Containing former members of The Crocketts, The Crimea had a single, "Baby Boom", in the famous John Peel's festive 50 (reaching #8) and have recently released their album "Tragedy Rocks" on the back of several succesful UK tours, notably supporting Ash, Kings Of Leon, Billy Corgan, Stereophonics,...

Todo comenzó en 1995 cuando Maxim Mikhaylov creó la llamada banda de pop rock "Secret Land". El mismo era el productor, escritor de toda la música y las letras y cantante. El grupo ae mantuvo activo desde 1995 hasta 2007. Durante ese tiempo publicaron varios álbumes y videos, promocionados en radio y televisión, pero el proyecto fue solamente de difusión local y no duró más allá de la guerra de Crimea. En 2007 se disolvió, y comenzó a experimentar con canciones sin terminar, con diferentes samples, sonidos y voces. Finalmente, en el final de 2008 Maxim crea un nuevo proyecto...
