The Defectors son una banda danesa de rock originaria de Aarhus. Formada en 1997, sus miembros originales eran Mort Harder, Mik Stegger, Jonas Jørgensen, Martin Budde y Torben Skovgaard. La banda cita al rock de garage de los años sensenta y a las primeras formaciones punk como influencias principales, y mantienen esto en sus trabajos, siendo típicamente catalogados tanto como una banda de Garage Rock como de Punk revival. No suele ser muy habitual recibir material de bandas procedentes de Rusia pero cuando esto sucede la sorpresa suele ser bastante agradable. Ese es el caso de esta banda procedente de la extrema Siberia que se llaman DEFECT DESIGNER y que debutan con el trabajo titulado “WAX” que nos presenta el ecléctico sello italiano My Kingdom Music. Anteriormente la banda ya contaba con un CD promocional titulado “W” que data de 2007. Para describir el estilo de estos rusos habría que hacer mención a géneros como el Death Metal o el Metal Progresivo más extremo, llegando por momentos a recordar...

It was way back in 1978, in Northern Ireland, that the DEFECTS first picked up guitars, playing covers of punk classics to their mates. The original line-up consisting of Buck(vocals), Dukie(guitar), Glenn(drums) and Geoff(bass). By 1980 Geoff had been replaced by Gary and with leathers, studs & bristles intact, the band were ready for their assault on the music biz. The band recorded the obligatory demo tape, but the response from English records companies was zero.
