1)Accents is the side project of the vocalist of The Cast Before The Break, TJ Foster. Foster was born in Simsbury, Connecticut but Accents calls Albany, NY home. When Accents was announced, Foster stated his intentions were to write anthemic, ambient-folk stories, citing influences from a variety of different artists. Over 2 years after some of the songs on the debut, "Growth and Squalor", were written, that's exactly what they've turned into. Accents’ refreshing blend of indie rock caters to an array of audiences. With comparisons ranging from 90s alternative (“The Fog”) to stripped down folk (“Storms”) and up-tempo rock (“Routine Movements”), the record’s ebb and flow is uniquely captivating, yet thematically consistent.
2)The Accents was a doo-wop band during the 1950s. Its only popular song came out during the “sack” dress fad, and was entitled "Wiggle, Wiggle." The song was released in October, 1958, and contended that a girl didn’t have to be pretty, or wear good clothes; she just had to wear a “sack” dress, and “wiggle” where it showed the most..[1]
