Hiroshima is an American jazz fusion band formed in 1974 by Sansei Japanese American Dan Kuramoto (wind instruments and band leader), June Kuramoto (koto), Johnny Mori (percussion and taiko), and Danny Yamamoto (keyboards and drums). Named for the Japanese city of Hiroshima, the band is best-known for the fusing of Japanese music and other forms of world music into its playing. Its early jazz-pop R&B sound gave the group a huge following among the African American community and they are regarded as musical pioneers among the Asian American and Japanese American community. .

Oh Hiroshima is a post-rock band formed in Kristinehamn, Sweden by Leif Eliasson and Jakob Nilsson in 2007. Two friends who met in high school and formed a close friendship. What started off as a solo project became a project between two friends who wanted to create and experiment with the music they loved. After a few months Jakob’s younger brother, Oskar, joined the duo to play bass, but later switched to drums. The Italian band Hiroshima Mon Amour was originally formed in November of 1994 by Carlo Furii, whose idea was to unite two friends whom had learned to play a couple of years prior. The band however had very little fortune and dissolved in autumn 1995. Some time later, Carlo decides to call upon other friends and so reform the group. In summer 1998 Hiroshima Mon Amour signs with the record label Ideasuoni with the intention of finally recording their first album.
