David McAlmont is most famous as part of the duo McAlmont and Butler who's hit 'Yes' reached the UK top 10. David's career in music pre-dated this hit by a number of years. Moscow band Calmed By The Tides Of Rain (CBTTOR) has been formed by Artyom (vocals) and Alexander (drums: Violent Coldness) in the summer 2008 and rapidly began searching for other musicians. Originally the band planned to play downtempo metal/hardcore in vein of Suffokate, Emmure, The Acacia Strain, concentrating on brutal vocals and groovy basis. The McCalmans sind eine schottisches Folkmusiktro. Die Gruppe wurde 1964 von Ian McCalman, Derek Moffat und Hamisch Byne gegründet, die damals am Edinburgh College of Art studierten. 1982 ersetzte Nick Keir (vorher bei der Folkband Finn Mac Cuill) Hamish Bayne und nach dem Tod von Derek Moffat 2001 kam Stephen Quigg zur Gruppe dazu.
