Das Woodstock Music and Art Festival war ein Musikfestival, das als musikalischer Höhepunkt der US-amerikanischen Hippiebewegung Flowerpower gilt. Es fand offiziell vom 15. bis 17. August 1969 statt, endete jedoch erst am Morgen des 18. August. Auf dem Festival traten 32 Bands und Solisten der Musikrichtungen Folk, Rock, Soul und Blues für insgesamt rund 200.000 US-Dollar Gage auf. David Sandström started out as a drummer is various punk/hardcore bands, most notably Refused. After Refused threw in the towel in 1998, Sandström went to work on his second solo album (the first one, The Faint Sounds Of Shovelled Earth, had been released only months prior).
