Es gibt mehr als eine Band mit dem Namen Dissection: 1. Dissection war eine melodic Black / melodic Death Metal-Band, die 1989 in Strömstad (Schweden) gegründet wurde. Kreativer Kopf der Band war Sänger und Gitarrist Jon Nödtveidt (1975–2006). BIO: Dissection ging 1988 die Thrash-Metal-Band Siren’s Yell voraus, deren Besetzung bereits weitgehend dem Gründungs-Line-Up Dissections entsprach, sowie 1989 Nödtveidts und Öhmans Projekt Rabbit’s Carrot. Beide Bands wurden nach kurzer Zeit zugunsten von Dissection aufgelöst.
