The Animals waren eine englische Rockband der sechziger Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Die Animals gründeten sich 1962 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne und spielten ab 1964 in London. Ihre Musik war stark von Folk und Blues geprägt. Entdecker und erster Produzent bis Anfang 1966 war Mickie Most. Ihre erste Single war eine Coverversion von Bob Dylans Baby Let Me Take You Home. Die nächste Single The House of the Rising Sun wurde ein Riesenerfolg, auch in Amerika. Es folgten die Singles I'm Crying, Boom Boom, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood und Bring It On Home To Me, bis Keyboarder Alan Price ausstieg.

Animals as Leaders ist ein instrumentales Progressive Metal-Projekt des Gitarristen Tosin Abasi, der in Washington D.C. lebt. Das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum erschien im April 2009 via Prosthetic Records.
Das Projekt entstand auf einen Vorschlag des Labels Prosthetic, dem Abasis Gitarrenspiel auffiel, der damals noch in der Metalcore-Band Reflux aktiv war.
Daher wurde er gefragt, ob er gewillt sei, ein Soloalbum für das Label aufzunehmen.
Abasi lehnte zunächst ab mit der Begründung, es sei egoistisch und unnötig, auch an einer Solokarriere zu arbeiten.
Nachdem sich Reflux aufgelöst hatte, entschied er sich, das Angebot anzunehmen.

Oxfordshire quartet Glass Animals are Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Edmund Irwin-Singer and Joe Seaward. They grew up together from the age of thirteen and started working together when Dave showed Drew some tracks.
They self-released a 5 track demo in 2012 which form the basis of the 'Leaflings EP', released via Kaya Kaya Records. It included 'Cocoa Hooves', 'Golden Antlers' and 'Exxus', later included on the 'Black Mambo / Exxus EP'.
