Jaymes McFarland, better known by his stage name "Jaymes Young", is an American recording artist whose debut album, Dark Star - EP, was released September 9, 2013. In 2013 he was signed to a recording contract with Atlantic Records and toured with the indie rock group London Grammar. .

Oakland artist Baby Jaymes grew up immersed in the sounds of the classic school, R&B and funk artists of the Motown generation. As a result, his fresh sound, affectionately coined "ghetto retro", is heavily influenced by the artists of that era: Sylvia Robinson, Smokey, Aretha, Marvin, Tower of Power, Sly Stone, and other R&B pioneers. Baby Jaymes earned his stripes writing and working closely with several members of the Tonies camp and other San Francisco Bay Area bands. His accomplishments earned him tracks on the "Any Given Sunday," "Malibu's Most Wanted", The Invasion" and "My Baby's Daddy" soundtracks, among others....
