Ha Ha Tonka is an American band, originally formed in West Plains, Missouri (and formerly known as Amsterband). With a "Bible in one hand, broken bottle in the other" (Spin June '09) Ha Ha Tonka return with their sophomore effort on Bloodshot Records, Novel Sounds of the Nouveau South. The album takes listeners on a complex tour of the South—through lynchings and mob violence, sacrifice and reconciliation. As one of the most reputable producers and DJs in Japan, Tonk has been supporting the Hip Hop scene since the early 1990's. While he released his own five full length albums; "Penetration" (naked artz) in 1997, "Reincarnation" in 2000, "Aquarian Soul" in 2002 and "LOVE" in 2004, he produced several tracks for Pismo, Sadat X, Afu-ra, Cocoa Brovaz, Zion I, Rasco, Raashan Ahmad, etc... The 4th solo album "SWEET" was out on the Octber 5th 2005. A debut song for worldwide distribution is "118th Hustle" from the most listenable and danceable DJ compilation in 2003, "DEEP CONCENTRATION 4"(OM Records)....

Romania Laurentiu Zarzu (tONKPROJECT) started his music career caught in a period of transformation between hardware and software. If most of the new producers create their tracks in order to "sound like ... ", tONKPROJECT took the alternative and build up his own sound, experiencing from track to track new sounds, styles, genres influenced by nothing than the technology and the unlimited horizon offered by electronic music. Tonka (* 24. Juni 1973 in Mainz; früher DJ Tonka), mit bürgerlichem Namen Thomas René Gerlach, ist ein House-DJ, Produzent und ehemaliger Schulfreund von Ian Pooley.
