Shivkumar Sharma wurde am 13. Januar 1938 im Staat Kashmir geboren. Her father Pandit Daya Shankar Upadhyaya and mother Manorma Devi taught young Richa the art of singing bhajans, particularly Mata Ke Jagran, which slowly and steadily became Richa’s destiny in the initial years of her life.
