Gorillaz ist der Name einer britischen Musikgruppe, die aus den vier Comicfiguren 2D, Murdoc, Noodle und Russel bestand.
Die Band wurde 1998 in London erschaffen von Damon Albarn, dem Sänger der britischen Gruppe Blur, und Jamie Hewlett, dem Zeichner und Co-Autor des Comics Tank Girl. Ansonsten wird sie nicht durch einen Kreis realer Personen repräsentiert, vielmehr arbeiten Albarn und Hewlett mit einer wechselnden Gruppe von Musikern und Produzenten zusammen, so dass es zu den einzelnen Band-Mitgliedern kein reales Alter Ego gibt.

It is fair to say that the immediate appeal of the incredible Hammersmith Gorillas was triggered primarily by the fascinating sleeves of their first singles. These guys, if anything, deserved total respect simply for being brave enough to look the way they did. Their bizarre display of totally over-the-top hairdos combined with the most incongruous dress sense became an endless source of wonder and speculation for a generation of French fans. Who on Earth were they? Where could they possibly come from?

Tropical Trash are a Louisville-based avant rock combo founded by singer/guitarist Jim Marlowe. The band has had a somewhat flexible lineup during its existence, but is primarily known as a trio featuring bassist Ryan Davis of State Champion and drummer Jeff Komara of Sapat and Alcohol Party. As a trio, the group released the 2015 full length UFO Rot on Load Records in the U.S. and on Riot Season in the EU. The live release LIVE AT THE FILLMORE ETC was recorded while touring the U.S. West Coast in support of Slint.
