Snow Patrol ist eine britische Rockband aus Glasgow (Schottland) und Belfast (Nordirland), die 1994 entstand. Stilistisch ist die Gruppe nicht eindeutig einzuordnen, wird jedoch teilweise dem Alternative Rock zugerechnet.
Geschichte
Zunächst nannten sie sich Polarbear. Unter diesem Namen hatten sie ihre erste EP "Starfighter Pilot" (Electric Honey Label) veröffentlicht, bevor sie sich aus rechtlichen Gründen umbenennen mussten.
Ihren kommerziellen Durchbruch schaffte die Band erst Anfang 2004 mit ihrem dritten Album "Final Straw". In den britischen Albumcharts stieg die Platte bis auf Platz 3. Snowy White (bürgerlich: Terence White; * 3. März 1948 in Barnstaple, Devon/England) ist ein britischer Blues-Gitarrist.
Biographie
Inspiriert von B.B. King, Buddy Guy und Otis Rush steuerte White in den 1960er Jahren eine neue eigene Art des Blues an, die er zusammen mit seinem Freund und Jam-Partner Peter Green (Gründer der Band Fleetwood Mac) immer weiter verfeinerte. White spielt dabei meist eine Gitarre der Marke Gibson Les Paul. In den 1970er Jahren und 1980 arbeitete White mit der Kultband Pink Floyd zusammen. Er spielte zwar nicht fest im Programm für Pink Floyd, wurde jedoch bei Welttourneen, Konzerten und Alben zugeladen....

Snowstorm was a rock band in Gothenburg, Sweden, founded in 1976 by Lars "Dille" Diedricson (vocals), Peter Nordholm (guitar), Torben Ferm (drums) and Micael Serenban (bass). Scoring several chart successes in Sweden during the 1970s and '80s, one of their most famous songs is "Sommarnatt" from 1980.
