Dusty Springfield OBE (* 16. April 1939 in Hampstead, London; † 2. März 1999 in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire; eigentlich Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien) war eine britische Soulsängerin.
Wegen ihrer für eine Weiße sehr ungewöhnlichen Soulstimme wurde sie „White Queen of Soul“ genannt. Vor ihrer Solokarriere war sie die Lead-Sängerin in einem Trio namens "The Springfields" - zusammen mit ihrem Bruder Tim und einem weiteren Sänger -, das zwei Hits landen konnte: "Silver threads and golden needles" 1962 und "Island of dreams" 1963.

Nachdem Tom knapp gegen Charlie Simpson verlor und keinen Platz in Busted erhielt, entschloss er sich schließlich eine eigene Band zu gründen. Zusammen mit Danny Jones und des Plattenlabels Universal im Rücken machten sie sich auf die Suche nach einem Drummer und Bassisten, die sie in Harry Judd und Dougie Poynter fanden.
