Powstał w 1983 r. z inicjatywy Roberta Brylewskiego, Pawła "Kelnera" Rozwadowskiego, Milo Kurtisa i Jarka "Gruszki" Ptasińskiego na bazie grupy Aurora (wcześniej Brygada Kryzys), po odejściu z niej Tomka Lipińskiego. Siedzibą zespołu na początku był klub Remont, a od połowy 1983 r. warszawskie Hybrydy. .

Dr. Israel, eigentlich Douglas Bennett (* New Haven in Connecticut), ist ein Musiker mit den Schwerpunkten Reggae, Jungle und Dub. Dr. Israel lebt und arbeitet in Brooklyn, New York. So multikulturell wie der "melting pot" New York ist auch die Musik von Dr. Israel: sehr Reggae- und Dub-orientiert, doch finden sich auch Einflüsse von Jungle, Hip-Hop und Punk sowie orientalische und afrikanische Elemente.
Musik
Die musikalischen Anfänge machte Dr. Israel beim experimentierfreudigen New Yorker Label WordSound, wo u.a. auch Bill Laswell, Systemwide, Soothsayer oder Spectre aka The Ill Saint veröffentlichten. Durch die rege Zusammenarbeit mit den Künstlern dieses Labels entwickelte...
