Possessed (engl.: „besessen“) ist eine der ersten Death-Metal-Bands. Die Band war in San Francisco, USA, ansässig. Der Begriff „Death Metal“ leitet sich höchstwahrscheinlich von der Demokassette Death Metal ab, die 1984 aufgenommen wurde Die Band wurde im Jahr 1983 gegründet. Zu Beginn spielte man Thrash Metal, der von Bands wie Exodus oder Venom beeinflusst war. Das 1985 veröffentlichte Debütalbum Seven Churches gilt allgemein als erste Death-Metal-Veröffentlichung, zumal auch einer der Songs auf dem Album so heißt. BSN Posse is a project that saw the light of day in the beginning of 2011, being the result of the musical fusion between two members of the group MMC: Sergio Ruiz (Stay Puft) and Enrique Gervilla (Broken Lip).
