There are 3 bands called 'THE RULES"
1: 'The Rules' (LONDON) are the UK NO.1 Man Band. With an edgy humorous angst and socially raw narrative proven to stun even the most vociferous of drunks into silence come legendary South-London 6-piece ‘The Rules’.

Fuelled by and an irresistibly tight rhythm section and bongo playing frontman this band create a uniquely ‘progressive/ pop-punk/ Bongo-Rock’ sound all of their own which includes acerbic guitar, blistering horns and the occasional face-melting filter-swept Korg Prophecy synth line.

You'll never forget 'The Rules'. But then, if you think about it you have probably been following them all of your life.

2: A cataclysmic juggernaut of Indie-Tronic known as "The Rules", from the swollen bowels of Orlando, Florida, are one of that areas best kept secrets. An instrumental, synth-savy, post rock outfit that doesn't forget the meaning of "rock" and powerful performance, yet owes just as much of their distinctive sound to New Wave synth pop of the 1980's. In reality their sound is a conglomerate of many of the musical genres prevalent in the past 25 years. Containing an original style, distinctiveness, and musicianship that also lends itself to many of the indie rock greats of 90's records stables such as, Thrill Jockey, Matador, 1/4Stick, and Touch n Go. But don't be misled, The Rules are of the 21st century and all that it has collectively taken to get there.

The Rules were originally created by Todd Elliott and Carlos DeSoto. They produced, composed and recorded everything on their debut Floppy Disk CD. After self releasing that record, they enlisted their good buddies Chris Medico and Anthony Cole to join the ranks for future outings, recordings, and playing duties.

Todd, Carlos and Chris play in a band called CASIOPEIA. Carlos also plays in GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY HATCH IT, The Jacqueline Jones Band, Los Diggaz, and is a busy freelance musician. Anthony Cole was the drummer for highly revered, The Sam Rivers Band, and is now playing for The Legendary J.C.’s, and is also a busy freelance musician.

You can find "The Rules" current release, 2006's "Important Information" on Polyvibe Records.
