In April 2005, Northstar posted a message on their website stating that the band was no longer in existence. Soon after that, Cassino came into existence and released three demos on the internet.

On March 29th, 2007, Cassino released their album full-length debut, Sounds of Salvation. The album was released by the band themselves, without support from a record label. .
