thehelpmeplease is jonas johnsson, he lives in gothenburg, sweden and studies graphic design. if he could, he would much rather sit in a park or a pub, drinking cheap wine, smoke a couple of cigarettes and maybe pet som bumblebees. (oh! he might knack out a song or two as well :) but who would pay his rent then? i dunno...

"thehelpmeplease has in some form existed since jonas bought his first guitar in 1997, when he was 19 years old. he is autodidactic and is one of those musicians that hardly even know the name of the chords he's playing, but yet manages to write brilliant songs.

-when i attended the university in falun in 1999, i met jari huotari (pseudoplotinos), we started to play together and after a while we got hold of more people and formed a band that went under the name of cone whaley. we played together for a couple of years, but were to much of slackers to even record a demo.

the band got a few gigs in the local area, their biggest success was a recording for a local tv-show that never aired, and when they headlined a gig at the student union.

-that was also our last gig. two months later two fifths of the band went on to play a national summertour as an opening act for kent, the hellacopters among others. - we shared our rythmsection with mando diao, says jonas and laughs. me and jari continued to write songs together until he moved to småland, that's when thehelpmeplease really was born, i couldn't think of writing songs or playing with someone else.

since then thehelpmeplease has released 4 ep´s and one full-lenght album,
thehelpmeplease has also toured quite a bit.

he has played together with bands as springfactory, viking moses, jana hunter, le sport, vega, club killers

his songs has gotten airplay
on radiostations in sweden, new zeeland, austria, norway, denmark, italy, spain and the usa.
