Since1889 were a metal band from Niigata, Japan that was formed in 2004 and disbanded in 2009.

They were formed in 2004 by 菅原広太(vo), 智一(gu), 亮(gu), 高広(ba) and 宏基(dr).
In 2005 they made appearances on two VA releases, Resident of Delusion and Relative-Heart. In 2006 they appeared on a Relative+Heart VA DVD, and released their first single, "Gaula". At the end of the year they sold a new single at their live shows only, "UnXfair". After that, bassist 高広 left and they recruited 翔 to replace him.
In the beginning of 2007, guitarists 智一 and 亮 left, the latter to join √eight, and later that year bassist 翔 left as well.
By the end of the year they were replaced by Setsu(gu), Takushi(gu) and sigma(ba), and the band distributed two CDs at a live called "esCargot" and "THE 「C」BLOOD MANIFEST".
In 2008, they released their new single "DIABOLOS", and after that guitarist Takushi and bassist sigma left. From now on they would use support bassists, and Takushi was replaced by ex-roadie よしあつ in 2009.
In that year they distributed another CD, "Dear...Raila", and released their last single, "ENEMY".
They disbanded on august 8th, 2009. Vocalist 菅原広太 and guitarist Setsu have since played in a session band with ex-guitarist 智一.
In january of 2010, the original lineup of Since1889 has performed as a session band under the name 蠍.
Since then, members of the band in various session bands have performed Since1889 songs live, all of them with vocalist 菅原広太.
Guitarist よしあつ formed a new band in 2010, Crazy★Shampoo, switching from guitar to vocals.
