The Liverpool Scene were poets, artists and musicians living in Liverpool in the 1960's. The band comprised of Andy Roberts, Adrian Henri, Mike Evans, Mike Hart, and Percy Jones. The band went through a few changes and Percy was replaced by Brian Dodson, who was later replaced by Pete Clark and finally replaced by Frank Garrett.
Most of their music is poetry, sung or spoken set along to acoustic guitar.
They write poetry relevant to the time, both politically and in keeping with the vogue. There are eight albums from this band but they can be hard to buy. The most commonly available albums are "The Amazing Adventures of ..." (1968) and "Bread on the Night" (1969). The band unfortunately split in 1970.
In the film 'The Rutles' the Liverpool scene are in one shot. The Liverpool Scene were very much contemporary of the Beatles and knew them well. .
